MD Sunnat Ali Mollik (born: 12 October 1950) is a Bangladeshi journalist,[2][3] author, philanthropist.[4][5][6][7] And publisher of Daily Rudrabangla, a Bengali language daily published in Bangladesh.[8][9] He is a[10][11] freedom fighter[4][12][13][7][14] of Bangladesh.[5][15] and was nominated for the Freedom Award in 2024.[16][17]

Reporter[edit]

Mollik, was a political reporter in the 80s, and worked for some of the leading newspapers of the time. In the 1990s, he covered the Awami-League beat and became a part of the upper echelons of Dhaka’s political circles. Previously a student leader, Md Sunnat Ali Mollik’s brand within politics and Awami League in particular grew rapidly across his hometown and Dhaka.[18][6]

Rudrabangla[edit]

Mollik, Daily Rudrabangla Publisher of newspaper magazine. He has been working in Rudrabangla since its inception. He is currently still serving as publisher.

Alokito Sakal[edit]

Mollik, Popular Bangladeshi newspaper Alokit Sakal entertainment reporter. He gained decades of love and popularity through entertainment.

Early life[edit]

Mollik, was born on 12th October 1950 in Shyamnagar (Now shyamnagar in satkhira district) of East Pakistan. His father is Md Bux Mollik and mother Amena Khatun He is the eldest of 13 siblings. He did his childhood education in Shyamnagar.

Participation in the Bangladesh Liberation War[edit]

Md Sunnat Ali Mollik,[12] was inspired by the speech of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on March 7, 1971 to participate in the liberation war to protect the motherland. From there, he got the opportunity to work with Major Jalil, Captain Nurul Huda and Mahfuz Alam Beg in the Indian Air Force. At that time, Shyamnagar Principal Abdul Haque, Chairman Abdul Hamid, former MP Fazulal Haque, Satkhira's Kashempur Sakat Ali, Khulna Mustafa, Camp Commander MCAMA Bari took freedom fighter training at the same time. He has been getting freedom fighter allowance since March 1, 2010.

Awards[edit]

The government gave this award to Md Sunnat Ali Mollik[19][20][21] on the occasion of Independence Day on March 26.[22][23][24][25] Each awardee was given a cash prize of five lakhs,[26][27][28][29] an 18 carat gold medal weighing 50 grams, a replica of the medal and a citation.[30][31][32][33]
