Mamaga Amega Kofi Bra II, also known privately as Madam Pearl Bansa, was born on October 7th, 1941, to Mr. Ben K. Bansa and Mrs. Nora Jane Bansa, both belonging to the esteemed Amega Kofi Royal family of Peki Blengo.[1]
Education[edit]
Mamaga Amega Kofi Bra II received her elementary education at Blengo Primary School. Subsequently, she obtained her ‘O’ Level Certificate from Achimota Secondary School, where she studied from 1955 to 1959.[1]
In 1964, Mamaga Amega Kofi Bra II obtained her State Registered Nurse (SRN) Certificate at St. Alfeges Hospital in London. The following year, in 1965, she furthered her qualifications by acquiring her State Certified Midwifery (SCM) Certificate at Gables Maternity Hospital in Peterborough, England.
- Mamaga worked as an SRN/Midwife at the National Hospital, London from 1965 to 1966.
- She continued to Parkinson Howard Hospital, Tema as a Senior Nurse, In-Charge from 1967 to1969.
- from 1969 to 2000, Mamaga worked as a Senior Shift Nursing Officer at the VALCO Hospital in Tema. [1]
