Marta Adema (born August 16, 1922 in Amsterdam and died October 18, 2007 in Hoofddorp) is a Dutch athlete, specialist in Sprint events.

Martha Adema was one of four relay runners who won the gold medal in the 4 x 100 m during the European Championships in Oslo in 1946. She did this together with Nettie Timmer, Gerda Koudijs and Fanny Blankers-Koen. Adema ran her best personal time of 12.2 s in the 100 m at the beginning of the war years, in 1941. For comparison: at that time the Dutch record was 11.9 and was held by Fanny Koen. In 1946 she again came close to her PR of five years earlier with 12.3, although that performance was influenced by a tailwind.

Martha Adema was a member of the Amsterdam Athletics and Gymnastics Association Zeeburg, for which association she won various Dutch relay championships in both the 4 x 100 and the then still fashionable 10 x 100 m. She never won an individual gold medal at national level. medal, although some athletics experts are convinced that the 100 meter title awarded to her twin sister Janny in 1941 must actually have been won by Martha. The best known 100 meter time of Janny is 12.3 from 1942, while the title was won in 1941 in a time of 12.2, a time that sister Martha did have in her legs. Moreover, the two sprinting sisters were often confused with each other. However, one hundred percent clarity cannot be given about this.

She was married to Arnold Martini, who was a member of the Senate and mayor. Martha Martini-Adema died at the age of 85 and was cremated in Haarlem on October 24, 2007.
