Draft:Martin Teebs

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Martin Teebs is the main literary character in the "Back to Billy" book series created by Michael Anthony Giudicissi[1]. Teebs is a middling quality control manager at the Parmalove Ad Agency in Waldwick, NJ when he becomes fascinated by the story of Billy the Kid. Upon winning two airplane tickets to any destination in the continental United States, Teebs convinces his wife Lilly to travel with him to Lincoln, NM to indulge his growing Billy the Kid addiction. On his very first night in Lincoln, Teebs slips back in time to 1878, on the eve of the murder of Sheriff William Brady, quickly finding out that he is well known to the inhabitants of the town. Shortly after his arrival, he is greeted by a number of Regulators, who seem to be friendly, and then by a beautiful woman named Rosita Luna, known as The Belle of Lincoln, whom it's obvious that Teebs has been romantic with. Teebs has no prior knowledge of his involvement with these people and is taken aback when someone brings William H. Bonney, also known as Billy the Kid to meet him. Teebs quickly understands that Bonney is a friend and is warned not to appear on the street the next morning. Waking the next day, Teebs again slips back in time, seeing Sheriff Brady and his men walking on the main street. He tries to intervene, stopping Billy and the Regulators from killing the lawman, but fails. In the effort, Teebs loses his book, "The True Life of Billy the Kid", by author Sergio Bachaca, which The Kid later finds, and uses to change the course of history.
