Mary Crapelli Augusto (1901 - February 13, 1982) was a journalist, political candidate, and judge in New Jersey. She ran against Patterson, New Jersey mayor William P. Furrey who operated a Democrat Party controlled patronage operation in the city.[1]
She was born in Nicastro, a city in Calabria, Italy. She emigrated to the United States at 19, arriving at Ellis Island in March 1920. She married a newspaperman. She ran a candy store and edited a newspaper.[2]
She and her husband Emilio Augusto established Italian language newspaper La Voce Italiana.[2]
