Comment: Note that "eligible for the NHL entry draft" is not, in and of itself, grounds for a Wikipedia article -- and even if he does get drafted, that still won't be enough. Even at the NHL level, the baseline for notability still requires actually making ice in an NHL game, and just getting drafted isn't enough by itself -- while the OHL is a league where players get articles only if they achieve preeminent honours, like all-time top-10 career scorer or first-team all-star, and not a league where every player automatically gets an article just because he exists. Matthew Schaefer (born September 5, 2007) is a Canadian junior ice hockey player for the Erie Otters of the OHL. Schaefer will be eligible for the 2025 NHL Entry Draft and is projected to be a first round pick.[1]
