From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Maukerja is an employment website under the AJobThing company based in Malaysia, with a focus on the non-executive job market.

Established in 2014, Maukerja operates in both Bahasa Malaysia and English. Catering to industries such as manufacturing, food and beverage, retail, and hospitality, it connects jobseekers and employers in these areas.

History[edit]

In 2016, AJobThing achieved a significant milestone by organizing its first Ekspo Maukerja career fair in Kuala Lumpur[1]. The reach expanded further in 2017 with the inaugural multi-city Ekspo Maukerja held in Johor and Penang[2]

In 2018, Maukerja earned the Best Job Portal title at the Asia Recruitment Awards, while their employer brand AJobThing secured the Best Recruitment Portal category in HumanResources HR Vendors of the Year.[3] Maukerja stands out as the premier Bahasa-language job portal in the country and holds the fourth position among Jobs and Career websites in Malaysia.[4]

Recognizing the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on businesses and employment, Maukerja launched the Kita Jaga Kita campaign.[5][6][7] During the lockdown period, Maukerja's campaign enabled employers to post jobs for free, resulting in over 40,000 jobs posted in the second quarter of 2020.

To keep up with the digital changes, Maukerja started offering online classes through the Maukerja Academy.[8] The goal is to improve the skills of jobseekers and employees in areas like job searching and career development. Since the start of 2021, the academy has held over 330 classes, covering topics such as salary negotiation and interview techniques.

Maukerja frequently contributes expert opinion and commentary about job trends and government initiatives that impact the job market, such as PENJANA and i-Sinar[9] Maukerja partners and participates as speakers at various events, including the recent Gerak Kerjaya Johor 2021 by the Johor Strategic Human Capital Unit. [10]They also support events like the Malaysian Employment Laws Conference 2022.[11]
