Background and release[edit]

.In 1981, Craig Bloxom, Michael Weiley and Cliff Grigg formed the band 'Spy vs. Spy'[5] after the comic in MAD magazine[1][6]. They released the 'Four Fresh Lemons' EP and 'Do What You Say' single via Green Records in 1982[5] and briefly broke up in early 1983[5], due to Craig Bloxom joining The Numbers and Michael Weiley getting hepititis. They reformed not long after, but their gear got stolen. Midnight Oil manager Gary Morris became their manager around the same time and Powderworks put out this release in October 1984.[1] The song 'One of A Kind' was released as a single in November of the same year backed with 'Where Are We Going?', which peaked at #66.[1] [4][7]A music video was also made where the band play on a beach near the MV Sygna shipwreck in Stockton, NSW.[8]WEA (now Warner Music Australia), who was their label at the time, re-released the mini-LP in 1987.In 2002, the release was reissued onto CD along with the 'Four Fresh Lemons' E.P. and 'Do What You Say' single as a compilation called 'The Early Files'.[9] As of 2024, 'Meet Us Inside' is available to stream both as itself and via 'The Early Files' compilation.
