Michigan Leather Pride is an annual Leather contest that takes place in Detroit, Michigan in the fall. The weekend event also includes educational BDSM demonstrations and time to socialize.[1]

While the Michigan Leather Pride organization has been in existence since late 2019, after the dissolution of the Great Lakes Leather Alliance regional contest and its associated Michigan feeder, Great Lakes Leather Alliance-Michigan, the inaugural contest weekend in 2020 was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In November 2021, a one day education and party event was held, without a title contest. Michigan Leather Pride hosted a COVID-19 vaccine clinic at the 2021 event.

In October 2022, the organization hosted the first of its title contests for Sir, boy, Ms., and Bootblack, as well as hosting the inaugural contest for Michigan’s first non-binary title, Mx. Michigan Leather Pride.[2] In 2022, Michigan Leather Pride was one of five events in the state to host pop-up Mpox vaccine clinics by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.[3]
