Mogra Designs (meaning "Arabian Jasmine" in Hindi) is an Indian clothing brand founded in 2014. Based in Bengaluru, it specializes in Indo-Western clothing for women..[1] It was owned and operated by NIFT designer, Sheena Roy, until it was acquired by Tamasq Private Limited in 2017.[2]
History[edit]
Mogra Designs was founded on 3 July 2014 by Sheena Roy.[3] In October 2017, it was bought by Tamasq Private Limited, a slow fashion company run by CEO, Hitesh Shah[4]. The brand operated out of a workshop in Pune prior to 2018 when Mogra Designs moved to Bengaluru.[5] It opened its first walk-in retail store in 2021 and is currently located on 27th Main Road, Sector 1 in HSR Layout where it has been since 2022.[6]
Logo[edit]
The logo of Mogra Designs was created by Carishma Roy in 2014.[7] In India, the 'mogra' flower is a symbol of purity, romance and femininity.[8] The outer petals of the logo are a representation of the petals of the flower. The circular pattern in the middle is inspired by the Sri Yantra, a Mandala in the Rig Veda. The inverted triangle represents female power and the dot acts as the physical world and everything uniting it.[9]

Mogra Designs focuses Indo-Western clothing made with a variety of Indian fabrics. These include silk, wool and cotton. The fabrics are embellished with a wide assortment of techniques and decorations. Some of them are hand embroidery, dyeing, hand block printing, and handmade pompoms.
