NIC Malta, also known as the Malta Internet Foundation, is the official registry for Malta's country-code top-level domain, .mt, inaugurated in January 1999, succeeding the University of Malta in this role.[1]

NIC Malta actively promotes internet access and oversees domain registrations. They also operate the WHOIS service but currently do not offer domain privacy. The foundation also founded the Malta Internet Exchange, facilitating traffic between ISPs in Malta.[1]
