Introduction: This is a mechanical calculator made in the United Kingdom in the 1970s by a company called Olympia which also made typewriters at the time.
The Olympia AE-E51 was made in the United Kingdom in the 1970s, this machine prints results on paper using a typewriter black and red ribbon. The Olympia AE-E51 features a 10-key input system, which allows users to input numbers digit by digit rather than through a full numeric keypad matrix. This design streamlines data entry, making it efficient for performing calculations. Its functions are adding, subtracting, and repeating (so you could do multiplication in a semiautomatic way) it also can handle negative numbers by placing a - under the * (total symbol) and the number will be printed in red, and you could print a number without adding it to the accumulator by pressing the # key. There is a small clear panel above the keyboard which has numbers 1 to 10 with a needle that points to which digit you're on. you can input a max of 10 digits into the calculator and there is a max of 11 digits that can be printed output. The name (AE-E51) was found on the back of the unit, this was sold for the United Kingdom market, the source I have found has it called the AE-D1 but this is not what is on this unit but they look and work identically.
