One28 L.L.C, established in the United Arab Emirates in 2018 by Adrien Crastes (Chief Executive Officer) and Alexandre Coyette (Chief Operating Officer). The name "One28" reflects the exhilarating sensation experienced when a listener hears their favorite song, reaching a heart rate of 128 bpm. The normal resting heart rate for adults falls between 60-100 beats per minute. 128 beats per minute, the most commonly used bpm in music, is often experienced when a person feels adrenaline and pleasure, including when they hear a song they like in particular.[1][2][3]

Launch[edit]

One28 released its technology on the 22nd of June 2022. The event featured Resident DJ Chris S which facilitated over 50 requests, emphasizing the app's impact on audience engagement.[1] Since its launch at the MK Club in Monaco, One28 has expanded its global presence, generating over $400,000 in tips for DJs across 46 countries.[2]

Functionality[edit]

One28's platform encompasses a comprehensive ecosystem of mobile and web applications, streamlining the process of song requests to DJs for a tip. DJs, utilizing the One28-DJ mobile app, establish a minimum price per request and propose songs. They have the discretion to accept or deny requests, providing comments if necessary, with the app issuing instant refunds for denied songs. DJs must play approved requests within a 30-minute timeframe to receive the tip. Over 15 thousand DJs participate in this ecosystem, engaging in live requests on a weekly basis.[1][3]

Global Presence[edit]

One28 has made significant strides, establishing a presence in venues such as L'ARC Paris, Palm Beach Club Cannes, Toy Room Madrid, Shoko Barcelona, Tape, Maddox London, Just Me Milan, 1Oak Tokyo, Lavo NYC, Living Room, Saxony Miami at the Faena Hotel, Rocco’s UCLA, Grandmaster Records, Bootsy Bellows in LA, and Twiga Monte Carlo, where the famous DJ Magnum sets the minimum request price at 50€. It has also extended its reach to clubs in Corsica, Nice, Marseille, and Cannes.[1] [2]
