Different from: Orient Bank (Uganda).
Orient Bank (or Orient Development Bank Corporation)[1] was a commercial bank in the Philippines established by Jose Go in February 1996. It was formerly a thrift bank, Bangko Silangan Development Bank.[2] The bank was closed in 1998.[1]
In November 2020, Manila Regional Trial Court Branch 42 convicted Go and another ranking official for fraud involving ₱159 million linked to the bank's closure. The decision would be publicized by the Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation on July 1, 2021.[1]
