Philip Nathan Toomey[1] is a game designer.

Career[edit]

P. Nathan Toomey was one of the three finalists in 2002 for the Setting Search to develop a new campaign setting for Dungeons & Dragons.[2][1] Wizards of the Coast noted that none of the three finalists had any published professional game design work up to that point, and that each of their proposals had something special about it that the reviewing committee felt would make it a great campaign setting for the 30th anniversary of the game.[3] When the semi-finalists were announced, it was revlead that Toomey was also a scholar.[4] Toomey had provided over 100 pages of details for his world which is under a non-disclosure agreement with Wizards of the Coast, and after Keith Baker was chosen as the winner for his setting of Eberron, Wizards retained the rights to the setting created by Toomey.[2]

His design work for Dungeons & Dragons includes the Monster Manual III (2004).
