Pepco is a Polish retail chain that sells clothing and products.
As of 2024 the chain is part of the Pepco Group, which also owns Dealz and Poundland.[1]

The chain was founded in 1999 in Poland as a branch of the British Poundstretcher chain (at the time owned by Brown & Jackson plc).[2]
Poundstretcher's stores in Poland were acquired to the South African Pepkor in 2003, following the major restructuring of Brown & Jackson plc (also at the time owned by Pepkor), the Polish stores were rebranded to Pepco to differnate it from Poundstretcher in the United Kingdom.
Beginning in 2013, Pepco's expansion into other European markets began.
In November 2014, the company Steinhoff International acquired Pepkor (including Pepco) for 5.7 billion USD.[3]
In 2023, the majority shareholder of the Pepco Group (the owner of Pepco), Steinhoff International, stood on the brink of bankruptcy.[4] The existence of the group however, was not threatened, as the group operates as an independently listed company.
In 2023, Pepco entered the United Kingdom, but not opening physical stores, instead opening clothing concessions in Poundland stores, replacing the Pep&Co brand.[5]
