  • Comment: We need to see significant coverage, directly of the school itself, in multiple secondary sources that are reliable and entirely independent of the subject. Please don't resubmit without such sources, as this may be rejected outright.
Note that the vast majority of primary and secondary schools are not notable enough to warrant their own articles. DoubleGrazing (talk) 06:46, 23 January 2024 (UTC)

History[edit]

The Location of Pinecrest Lakes Academy in the Clermont area

Pinecrest opened in 2017, their middle high school Pinecrest Lakes Prep opened in 2020. They have plans to build a second campus in the Lake-Sumter State College area for middle and high schoolers, which was supposed to open in 2021, though it has been postponed (The high school currently resides in a building next to the Cooper Memorial Library).[1]

The PLA campus originally had an orange and white color scheme when it opened in 2017, though it was changed to a blue and white color scheme sometime in 2020-2021. A second building (connected by a bridge) was opened in 2022 to house most 4-5th Grade, and Middle School classes. During the 2022-2023 school year they raised money to build a roof over the basketball court, to protect kids from the extreme heat during the end of the Florida summer. But the project has been shelved as of March 4, 2024 due to talks to replace the basketball court with a gymnasium. This would give students air conditioning during P.E , and would give both boys and girls Middle School Basketball Teams a place to play home games. Also in 2022, the logo was changed. The color schemes were still kept but the logo was drastically changed into more of a professional look rather than the simplistic look of the old one.

In 2023 Pinecrest Lakes Academy officially became the #1 Elementary school in Lake County surpassing their "rival school" Cypress Ridge Elementary also located in Clermont. (though their haven't been official rankings yet as of Jan 22, 2024 other than in the school websites news)

They have already been the #1 Middle School in Lake County in the 2022-2023 school year. As of 2024 PLA became an "A" school for the 6th year in a row for the 2022-2023 school year. They have been an "A" school for every school year since their founding in 2017.
