Pjai Austin (born 19 September 2000) is an American track and field athlete who competes as a sprinter.[1]
Early life[edit]
Austin was born in Los Angeles, California. He attended Maricopa High School, and the University of Arizona from 2019.[2][3] From 2021, he attended the University of Florida.[4]
Career[edit]
At the 2023 NCAA Outdoor Athletics Championships in Austin, Texas in June 2023, Austin broke the 10-second barrier when he won his heat in a personal best time of 9.89 seconds. It was the fourth fastest time in Collegiate history.[5] In the final he ran 9.97s to finish fifth.
Competing at the 2023 USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, in Eugene, Oregon, he reached the semi-finals of the 100m competition.[6] In July 2023, Austin competed in the 100m at the Diamond League event in Silesia.[7][8]
