Serhii Volodymyrovych Poznanskyi is a famous Ukrainian cinematographer, film director, photo artist, photographer.

Born in 1972 in Kyiv. Graduated from the Kyiv State Institute of Theater Arts named after I. Karpenko-Kary [1](1998). He has been engaged in photo-artistic creative activity for more than 30 years. Has been working in advertising since 1997.

They are also stored in the Central State Archive-Museum of Literature and Art of Ukraine.[2] - in the museum-repository of the national cultural heritage of the People of Ukraine, where Art, Literary and Musical works is safely stored forever.

In 2016, Serhii Poznanskyi returned to the complex, somewhat lost technique of ambrotype and created a unique result, each individual ambrotype is created in an exciting step-by-step process by hand, which adds even more value to it. The technique of painting with light using reagents on a glass plate is unique and often unexpected, so it excludes any possibility.

In this category, Serhiy achieved success and received an honorable mention of the specialized publication MONOVISIONS Black and White Photography Magazine from a jury consisting of world-class masters .

In our century, in which we are surrouneded by exabytes of glamorous pictures as a demonstration of ostentatious perfection of the binary code, some stubborn people of the past are still seeking for the technologies of the past. They are ready to spend days and weeks to achieve certain effects available in any photo editor with just one click. They are extremely thrilled about their grandfather’s old good-sized cameras in the attic. They can’t give you a сlear answer “why on earth do you need this?”, not because they don’t know what to say, but because they are convinced that nobody would ever understand them. Words like cyanotype, gumbichromate, calotype and others won’t cause any assosiations in the brains of modern-day young photographers. And only the old guard, who remember the smell of developer, will smile mysteriously. And even if they have never practiced this, these guys are well familiar with the theory.

There it is – Ambrotype! Authentic! [3]

He is a co-participant of many photo exhibitions and film festivals, in particular, in 2000 he took part in the international film festival - the "Molodist" film festival as the cinematograph of the documentary film "Angelius" [4], which received second place for the best cinematography.
