Short Description[edit]

Predecessor is a fast-paced action game that blends the genres of MOBA and FPS, putting players in the heart of a third-person battleground.[2] Developed by Omeda Studios[3] and currently in Early Access for PC and Playstation[4][5], Predecessor features a traditional three-lane map with an interactive jungle, various monster types, and a diverse roster of unique heroes to master.[6] Players work together in teams of five, strategizing and coordinating to overcome their opponents and achieve victory.

Gameplay[edit]

Predecessor's gameplay combines elements of MOBAs with a FPS game[7]. Players choose from one of several heroes, each with their own distinct abilities and playstyles.[8] Matches revolve around pushing lanes, conquering objectives, and eliminating enemy heroes.[9]

  1. Fast-paced action: Utilize third-person perspective and precise aiming mechanics to dominate the battlefield.
  2. Strategic depth: Coordinate with your team, manage resources, and master your chosen hero's abilities to secure victory.
  3. Hero diversity: A growing roster of diverse heroes offer a variety of playstyles, from tanky frontline warriors to stealthy assassins and cunning mages.
  4. Objective-based gameplay: Capture control points, secure jungle buffs, and slay epic monsters to gain an edge over your opponents.[10]

Development[edit]

Predecessor's development began with a team of former developers from Epic Games' Paragon[11], an MOBA that shut down in 2018.Motivated to re-develop the Paragon formula, they founded Omeda Studios and embarked on creating Predecessor. The game entered Early Access on November 30, 2022, and continues to receive regular updates and new content.
