Draft:Pullar Family Fish And Chip Shop Empire

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Pullar Family Empire is a Scottish Owned Fish And Chip Shop Franchising Empire which franchises frying equipment and locations. It was started in 1887 by Wilbert Pullar and continues on strongly in 2024. The Pullar Family Empire is now ran trilaterally by Richard (Dick) Pullar, 75, William (Wullie) Pullar, 58 and Robert (Boaby) Pullar, 54. As of today the Pullar Families net worth is estimated to be over 142 Million Pounds between all three brothers.

In 1887 in Glasgow, Scotland, Wilbert Pullar opened the first Pullar and Sons Fish And Chip Shop on Sauchiehall Street. It went on to become popular for a good few years until Wilbert decided to close the business and instead lease the location and equipment to another restaurant and found this far more profitable at the time. Slowly but surely the Empire built and today over 8,000 Chip Shops are under the Pullar Franchisee System. This number is constantly growing and soon the Pullar family will be one of the richest full British families in Scotland.

Bonus History

The Pullar family assisted troops with potato’s and tinned sardines during WW2 and were known for their links to the Royal Family at this time.

In 1912, the soon to be heir of the Pullar Empire, Wilbert Pullar II, was accused of murdering a man in a tavern over a game in which he accused the man of cheating. Some said at the time it wasn’t close to a fraction of the Pullar Heir’s wealth and he simply couldn’t bare losing to a common person. He was trialed but was let off after a large settlement made out of court to the man’s family, this also resulted in him inheriting his fathers wealth and the business with no real repercussions. A lot of people refused to do business with Wilbert II but it didn’t do much in stopping the progression of the Empire.
