Draft:RIB Unlimited

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
  • Comment: Well done on creating the draft, and it may potentially meet the relevant requirements (including WP:GNG, [[[WP:NCORP]]) but presently it is not clear that it does.
As you may know, Wikipedia's basic requirement for entry is that the subject is notable. Essentially subjects are presumed notable if they have received significant coverage in multiple published secondary sources that are reliable, intellectually independent of each other, and independent of the subject. To properly create such a draft page, please see the articles ‘Your First Article’, ‘Referencing for Beginners’ and ‘Easier Referencing for Beginners’.
Please note that many of the references are not from sources that are considered reliable and should be removed (including blogs, company websites, Twitter, YouTube). Also, the references are not formatted correctly (see Introduction to referencing with VisualEditor and Wikipedia’s Manual of Style for help).
Additionally, the draft tends to read too much like a CV, which Wikipedia is not.
The draft does not appear to show that the subject has any notability beyond the average coverage in trade publications for similar corporations (see WP:ROTM).
Also, if you have any connection to the subject, including being paid, you have a conflict of interest that you must declare on your Talk page (to see instructions on how to do this please click the link).
Please familiarise yourself with these pages before amending the draft. If you feel you can meet these requirements, then please make the necessary amendments before resubmitting the page. It would help our volunteer reviewers by identifying, on the draft's talk page, the WP:THREE best sources that establish notability of the subject. You may also wish to leave a note for me on my talk page and I would be happy to reassess. Cabrils (talk) 01:31, 26 January 2024 (UTC)

RIB Unlimited is a Swedish producer of rigid inflatable boats, RIB’s.

The company was founded in the mid 1990’s and constructed it’s first boat models based on Hydrolift’s (Hydroline) famous racing hulls. The model range has included sizes of 6 to 12 meter RIBs over the years.

As part of its promotional activities to launch the brand in the 1990’s, RIB Unlimited undertook a number of initiatives to achieve world speed records for RIB’s. The first attempt was made in 1995 when the company set at Guiness World Record (published 1996) for rigid inflatable boats reaching a top speed of 76.4 knots with the so called “Liquorice Boat”, a 6m RIB. In 1999, RIB Unlimited reached a new official world speed record for RIB’s reaching 101.8 knots with a 38 foot RIB catamaran designed by Egil Ranvig. The boat was called RIBCAT and was powered by a single 750hp Lamborghini V12 and became the first RIB to break the 100 knot speed barrier.

In the fall of 2022 the company presented it’s first prototype of a fully electrified RIB based upon a new 6 meter hydroplane model called 6S. Following it’s suitability and success with electrification, the company became committed to offer all it’s models with either electric or conventional drivetrain. The company is highly focussed on energy efficiency, typically through light weight constructions and advanced hydrodynamic hull designs.
