Production[edit]

In June 2013, Variety reported that Ubisoft Motion Pictures was developing a Rabbids film.[1] On February 10, 2014, it was announced that Sony Pictures Releasing and Ubisoft Motion Pictures were teaming-up to develop a full-length feature film.[2]

On October 14, 2015, it was reported that Robot Chicken writers Matthew Senreich, Tom Sheppard and Zeb Wells would be writing the screenplay for the film.[3] The film will be a live action/stop-motion animation hybrid, with Stoopid Buddy Stoodios providing the animation for Columbia Pictures to release.[3]

On December 13, 2019, Sony Pictures was no longer developing, with Lionsgate instead distributing the rights to the film.[4]
