Randy Glein (born May 19, 1965) is an American businessman and venture capitalist.[1] He is a co-founder and partner of DFJ Growth. Forbes has named Glein to its annual Midas List[2] five times over the past decade, and the NY Times / CB Insights[3] has named him to their list of the world’s top venture capital investors several times.

Education and career[edit]

Glein earned an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management, an MSEE from the University of Southern California, and a BSEE with high honors from the University of Florida. Randy was awarded the University of Florida Gator Engineering Innovation Award in 2013 and is a co-founder of the Gator Innovation Fellows program.[4] He is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and university forums.

Glein is a longtime venture investor with Tribune Ventures, and Hughes New Ventures and a co-founder of DFJ Growth, where he participated in the founding investments for DIRECTV, Motient, and XM Radio. He has been an entrepreneur and operating executive prior to DFJ Growth, serving as CFO of FeedBurner, a business development executive at DIRECTV during its startup and early growth, and a systems engineer at Hughes Space & Communications and Martin Marietta.[5]
