Ranil Piyaratna is an entrepreneur and founder with experience in human capital consulting and personal growth. He holds a Doctor of Chinese Energetic Medicine and has studied under experts in various fields of Qi Gong, Meditation, Buddhism, and Internal Alchemy.[1]

Early Life[edit]

Ranil Piyaratna grew up in a South Asian family and initially pursued a career in medicine. Despite starting college as a pre-medical student, his interests shifted, leading him to complete his undergraduate studies in Biological Sciences.

Following graduation, he explored work in a pharmaceutical laboratory but found opportunities were limited without a Ph.D. He then recognized the potential in business and decided to pursue an MBA with a focus on biotechnology.

After completing his undergraduate studies, Ranil drew inspiration from his friend Geetesh Goyal, who attended UC Davis before pursuing dental school. Inspired by his friend's career shift into recruiting, Ranil crafted a business plan focusing on life sciences recruitment for his master's thesis. Despite initial doubts, Ranil launched the venture, Human Bees, from Geetesh's living room, leading to remarkable success. Their company became the fastest-growing in America in 2021, achieving sales growth from 0 to $100. million in four years.[2][3]

In the early 1990s, Ranil graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology from the University of California, Davis. and a Professional Masters of Biotechnology degree from San Jose State University.[4]

Career[edit]

Earlier in his career, he held positions at Mobclix, Blue Lithium, Scios Inc./Johnson & Johnson, and Depomed.[4]

Forbes Business Council[edit]

In 2021, Ranil Piyaratna served as a Council Member for the Forbes Business Council, contributing to the council's activities and initiatives, potentially providing insights and expertise in business-related matters.

Human Bees[edit]

In 2012, Piyaratna co-founded Human Bees, a human capital consulting firm serving clients in technical, light industrial, and manufacturing sectors. Notably, the company was recognized by INC Magazine in 2021 as the #1 fastest-growing companies in America[3].

As the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Ranil played a crucial role in Human Bees' helping clients expand their teams by up to 1,000 employees. His strategic vision and leadership contributed to the company's success in navigating human resource challenges and facilitating exponential growth.

In 2023, Ranil received the “Tony Hsieh Award” for Radical Innovation in Human Capital.[5]

PulsedIn, Inc[edit]

In October 2022, Ranil co-founded PulsedIn, Inc., a social marketplace fostering professional growth for nurses and healthcare teams. The platform focuses on professional development and connects nurses with job opportunities and resources to obtain credentials.

Ranil is driving PulsedIn, Inc. towards its mission of transforming the healthcare industry. His strategic direction and commitment to innovation position PulsedIn.com as a pioneering force in reshaping the healthcare recruitment landscape.

Personal Life[edit]

In February 2024, Ranil authored an article titled "Embracing The Rubber Band Effect In Entrepreneurship," published in Forbes Business Council.[6]

He is also working on a book tentatively titled "Path Entry – A Spiritual Guide to Business Mastery."[1]
