According to Chronicon Pictum the hungarians arrived in Pannonia after the bulgar tsar payed the Pechenegsto raid their homes in Etelköz taking all their women and children as slaves promoting the magyar men to migrate west of the Carpathians to seek greener pastures and women to bare their children.[1]
