Richard W. Kent[1] was a businessman and baseball team proprietor in St. Louis, Missouri. He owned Calumet Cab Company. He was reportedly a numbers runner.[2] He and two partners, Richard W. Kent and Samuel Shepard, acquired the St. Louis Giants[3] and built a stadium for the team, renamed the St. Louis Stars.[2][4]

He was a director of the Negro National League (NNL).[5]

Silas E. Garner was a lawyer for the Calumet Cab Company.[6]
