Career

Effa started her career at Bradley’s Restaurant, Huddersfield as Chef de Partie in 2006. In 2010 Effa joined The Devonshire Arms at Beeley as Chef de Partie.

In 2011, Effa moved to Edinburgh to join the then Michelin-starred restaurant 21212 as Senior Chef de Partie.

In 2013, Effa moved to Cambridge to work at Alimentum, another Michelin-starred restaurant at the time as Sous Chef. 2014 saw Effa as Chef de Partie at Bohemia in Jersey.

In 2015, Effa relocated to Cornwall to join The Idle Rocks in St Mawes as Sous Chef.

In 2018, Effa moved back to Cambridge and returned to Alimentum as Head Chef.

Effa relocated to Yorkshire in 2018 to join The Box Tree in Ilkley as Head Chef. In 2019, Effa moved to TRUEfoods & chefsTABLE Ripon as Senior Production Chef.

Head Chef at Bar and Restaurant EightyEight

In 2022, Samira Effa took the helm as the Head Chef at Bar & Restaurant EightyEight.[1], one of the five dining establishments within the five-star hotel, Grantley Hall[2], based in North Yorkshire. Bar & Restaurant EightyEight is an Asian-fusion inspired restaurant that uses local Yorkshire produce to create dishes.

The award-winning hotel was previously awarded AA Hotel of the Year England 2022/23[3] and is a member of PoB Hotels[4] and Relais & Châteaux[5].

Bar & Restaurant EightyEight holds a 2 Rosette Award for Culinary Excellence[6]
