Sergei Blinnikov (July 20, 1901 - September 28, 1969) (Russian: Серге́й Капито́нович Бли́нников) was a Soviet actor in theater and films as well as a theater director and educator. He received several awards including People's Artist of the USSR[1] (1963) (USSR)[2] and People's Artist of the RSFSR (1948) (RSFSR).

He was born in Moscow and studied at the Moscow Art Theater School. He performed in dozens of shows at the Moscow Art Theater including as Afonka in Pugachevshchina by K. A. Treneva (1925), Gypsy in People by M. Gorky (1933), Job Trotter in Pickwick Club by Charles Dickens (1934), Fedot in Nikolai Virta's Land (1937), Vosmibratov in Forest by A. N. Ostrovsky (1948), Kondratiev in Green Street Surov (1948), Bessemenov in M. Gorky’s Petty Bourgeois (1949), Shamraeva in A. P. Chekhov’s The Seagull (1960), and Makedon Soma in Over the Dnieper by Oleksandr Korniychuk (1961), Simonyuk in Light of a Distant Star by Aleksandr Chakovsky and P. Pavlovsky (1964) and as Osip in Inspector General by Nikolai Gogol (1967).[3]

He married actress Anna Kolomiytseva.[citation needed] He is buried at the Novodevichy Cemetery. He is noted in the Great Soviet Encyclopedia (1969–1978).
