Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir (Urdu: پروفیسر ڈاکٹر شاہد منیر ; born 11 October 1967) is a Pakistani academic who is currently serving as the Chairperson of Punjab Higher Education Commission, in office since 16 June 2022. He is a Professor at Institute of Energy and Environmental Engineering, University of Punjab, Pakistan. Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir served as controller Examination, University of the Punjab from 2014 to 2018.[1]. He also served as Director Centre for Coal Technology,[2] University of the Punjab from 2011-2018. Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir served as a first Vice Chancellor of the University of Jhang from 2018-2022 [3]. He is an outstanding Institute builder and reformer. Keeping in view his outstanding performance, he was appointed as Vice Chancellor on additional charge at, University of Mianwali from July, 2020 to February, 2021[4]. He also assumed the additional charge of the post of Vice Chancellor, University of Sargodha from 18 June 2021 to 17 September 2021. In recognition of showing excellence and courage in the field of education in the country, he was awarded Tamgha-e-Imtiaz by the Government of Pakistan in 2023[5]
