Shao New York is a clothing brand based in New York City.

History[edit]

The brand was founded by Taiwanese-American designer Shao Yang, who was raised in Brooklyn and later attended Fiorello LaGuardia High School for the Performing Arts and Parsons School of Design.In 2014, Yang unveiled The Tailory, a bespoke suiting label. This venture served as a stepping stone for the founding of Shao New York in 2023.

Shao New York offers a range of clothing pieces, including shirt dresses and workwear.

Shao New York debuted at New York Fashion Week in September 2023. The brand collaborated with hairstylist Ted Gibson for their show.

The brand has received praise from fashion publicist Kelly Cutrone, who commends the brand's empowering designs, and social media personality Anna Delvey, who praises its unique blend of Eastern and Western influences. Forbes contributor Nadja Sayej applauded the brand's groundbreaking vision and ability to seamlessly merge traditional fashion structures with modern sensibilities.
