Draft:Sheringham Distillery

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sheringham Distillery is a Canadian distillation establishment committed to producing high-quality gin while prioritizing sustainability.[1] The distillery has gained international recognition, notably winning the World's Best Contemporary Gin award in 2019 at the World Gin Awards, for its Seaside Gin.[2]

Located in an area inspired by the West Coast, Sheringham Distillery focuses on selecting seasonal, quality ingredients to craft its products, integrating narratives into each bottle's flavor profile. The distillery emphasizes sustainability and holds certifications such as B.C. Green Business Certified and Surf Rider Approved. Sheringham aims to achieve carbon neutrality by 2024.[1]

The distillery places a strong emphasis on the use of clean, locally-sourced, and ethically-harvested ingredients. Sustainably-harvested winged kelp is utilized in products like the Seaside Gin[3] and Akvavit to contribute to their unique flavor profiles.

Master Distiller and Co-Founder Jason MacIsaac,[4] previously a chef, applies culinary principles to the distillation process, aiming to create a harmonious balance of flavors in the spirits.
