Siege of Turgai[edit]

On October 22, the city was under complete siege, the condition of the troops stationed there was terrible, there were not enough cartridges and people, so an expedition was built to help the city, but it took a long time to form due to a lack of officers[2]

On November 5th, the expedition's forces (which were assembled in incomplete numbers) gathered at Chelkar station. After that Lavrentiev ordered to go on a march to Turgai.

At that time, panic began in the city, local Kazakhs set fire to hay, thereby blocking the view of Russian units. The generals saw this as a danger and ordered them to prepare for battle, and for good reason, a couple of minutes later, the Kazakh army rushed to the city with a wild scream, they almost broke into the city, but were overturned by pre-prepared barricades (which they did not know about) heavy fighting was going on all day, the Kazakhs suffered terrible losses, but also It was not easy for the Russians, finally the Kazakhs retreated, leaving their bodies of fallen soldiers [3]

At that time, the forces of the expedition were fighting in the most difficult conditions, on November 7, the Balpan station was occupied with battles, and Lavrentiev began to prepare for decisive strikes against the besieging forces of the Kazakhs. [2]

Russian won a major battle on November 16 between a part of the Russian expeditionary army and a 12,000 Kazakh detachment, and Kotomin and laurels entered Turgai.[2]

On November 30, a battle took place, in a semi-circle, the Russian detachment repelled the attacks of a large army of Kazakhs. The Kazakhs retreated only when they lost most of the troops, according to reports, everything around the detachment was littered with corpses[2]

Lifting the Siege[edit]

On December 3, a decisive battle took place on the Turgai River, where 3,000 Kazakhs were completely defeated, after which the siege was finally lifted[2]

Aftermath[edit]

After the siege of Turgai, the rebels began to terrorize the local population, but this did not change anything, the Russians were so much superior to the rebels that a couple of hundred soldiers could exterminate thousands of Kazakh groups
