Strawweight is an upcoming film about Mixed Martial Arts directed by James M. Johnston in his feature film directorial debut, and tarring Lupita Nyong'o and Chloe Grace Moretz.

Premise[edit]

Two MMA fighters, one a former champion (Nyong'o) and one a young pretender (Moretz), are on a collision course towards the octagon.^[1]

It was reported in February 2024, that James M. Johnston would make his film directorial debut with Strawweight with Lupita Nyong'o and Chloe Grace Moretz attached to the lead roles. The film has been written by Paul Harrill and will be produced by Lars Knudsen and Patrick Newall. Rose Namajunas will work as as a fight consultant and executive producer on the film.^[2]
