Susan Cassidy Catanzaro known as "CASSIDY", is a Grammy-Nominated songwriter, singer, screenwriter, actress and entrepreneur originally from Sparta New Jersey.
In the early aughts, while signed to Atlantic Records, she was the first artist selected by mega corporation Starbucks for their newly-formed Starbucks Hear Music Label with the all-female rock band Antigone Rising. Cassidy was asked to join the band as their lead singer and main songwriter after four failed attempts by the band to secure a recording contract. With Cassidy's powerful vocals, songwriting ability and compelling live performances they secured an unprecedented partnership deal that led to her music being featured and sold in Starbucks stores throughout the U.S. and Canada. A union that resulted in platinum sales.
From 2005 to 2010 Cassidy toured and shared stages with The Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, The Allman's, Rob Thomas, OAR, and played festivals including Bonaroo and South x Southwest. She has appeared in Rolling Stone Magazine, Tonight Show, Today Show Summer Concert Series and a feature in The Gap’s campaign collaboration with Archbishop Desmond TuTu’s, Wisdom Project.
Cassidy has written songs for Demi Lovato, most notably her song For You appeared on Demi's Confident album. Cassidy's vocals appear on high-profile albums including; Demi Lovato, Rob Thomas, Mount Holly Band, OAR. Cassidy's song was featured in Love's Kitchen starring Claire /Forlani and Dougray Scott.
As an actress, Cassidy has appeared in several independent films. Receiving nominations and awards in the Best Actress and Best Romantic Comedy categories by festival judges around the world.
No longer touring due to prolonged Covid restrictions, she took up podcasting with her interview based, "Happy Hour With Cassidy" and most recently with her latest true crime project, "What Crime Is It?" on YouTube. Cassidy also writes screenplays and mentors up and coming writers to produce their best work.
She most recently returned to New Jersey where she purchased a construction business that specializes in custom design and installation.
