Tand is an American rock band based in Boca Raton, Florida founded in 2018. The band is currently composed of guitarists Taylor Godsey & Michael Garulli, keyboardist Daryl Wolff, bassist Jordan Richards, and drummer Robert Houk. In 2022, Tand released their first 3-song EP titled "Puzzle Piece", followed in 2023 by their first full length album titled "Tripp and the New Dinosaurs".[1]

History[edit]

The band formed in 2018 during a transition period from a previous project to cover a support gig booked at the Culture Room in Fort Lauderdale, Florida with Perpetual Groove. The original 4-piece lineup of the band featured Taylor Godsey, Daryl Wolff, Peter Krause and Ali Nassar.

The band was actively gigging throughout Florida during 2019 and 2020 until the COVID-19 pandemic trigged a national shutdown. During the shutdown, the band presented 7 live free webcasts from their studio. The webcast series totaled over 15 hours of live music performed by the band. Shortly after venues beginning to re-open in Florida in late 2020, the band began doing a bi-monthly residency at The Funky Biscuit in Boca Raton, Florida where one of the most notable guest appearances with Garulli took place. On December 29th, 2020,[2] Tand performed the entire second set of their show with Garulli, including a 3-song medley of Temple of the Dog tunes.

In 2021, after multiple sit-ins with the band, Tand announced that guitarist Mike Garulli of The Heavy Pets would be joining the band full time.

In 2022 shortly after performing at Summer Camp Music Festival for their first time, bassist Jordan Richards joined the band full time after the original bassist Peter Krause decided to leave the band to pursue a family.

In 2023, Tand announced that Rob Houk of Aqueous[3][4] would be joining the band for their upcoming 30+ date tour after parting ways with their original drummer, Ali Nassar. Although he was originally announced as the interim drummer, Houk has appeared at all live shows with the band since the announcement was made.

Tand recently announced they would be joining Pigeons Playing Ping Pong in early 2024 for a Southeast tour.[5]

Notable Festival Appearances[edit]

Tripp and the New Dinosaurs (2023)[edit]

Tripp and the New Dinosaurs, the bands first full length studio album, was recorded and mixed at Power Station Studios in Pompano Beach, Florida.
