Tarel Tala, real name Jonathan Kawooya, is a singer-songwriter & music producer born on February 5, 2001, in Kampala, the capital of Uganda. He received his education at Bulamu Children's Village, where he completed both his primary and secondary schooling. He is reknowned for his new age sound that represents new generation of Ugandan artists along with other Ugandan artists like Vyroota, Zuli Tums & An-Known.[1][2][3]

Early Life & Education[edit]

Tarel was born in the Kampala sub-ub of Ntinda. He received his education at Bulamu Children's Village,[4] where he completed both his primary and secondary schooling. Tarel's passion for music began in 2011 when he joined a Sunday school choir, marking the start of his musical journey. Over the years, he honed his skills as a music producer, songwriter, and artist.

Career[edit]

Tarel started making music in 2011 blending Afro-pop, afrobeats and traditional Ugandan genres and has since gone on to write and work with different artists and record labels including Swangz Avenue & Black Market Records. He has released multiples singles over the years and a debut titled, "Legends Are Made In Kampala"[5][6]
