Thailand World Music Championships was first held in 2010 the original name is Thailand International Marching Band Competition (TIMBC), it is the first international competition in Thailand. The participants were from Malaysia, Indonesia, Hong Kong and Thailand. The competition was held at the National Stadium in Bangkok. Moreover, Street Parade and Drumline Battle categories were first included in this competition.

The new logo was published and start use new name is "Thailand World Music Championships" in 2013. In that year, the world first Brassline Battle category was added to the competition. The Brassline Battle is becoming more popular in other countries nowadays. In 2014, the association was officially founded under the name “Thailand World Music Championships Association”.

In 2017, His Majesty the King of Thailand has granted his royal trophy is the first time we use the motto is “The Royal Trophy League International Bands Competition of Thailand”, in 2020, His Majesty the King of Thailand has granted his royal trophy together with Her Majesty Queen Suthida Bajrasudhabimalalakshana of Thailand, Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya of Thailand, His Royal Highness Prince Dipangkorn Rasmijoti of Thailand, Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendiradebyavati Kromluangrajasarinisiribajra Mahavajrarajadhita of Thailand.
