The Heuristics are an Ipswich (UK) based band made up of Dave D'Uke (Dave Berry) and Jonny Jetset (Jon Walters). They are noted for their minimalistic musical arrangements which often involve vocals, ukulele, bass guitar and drum sequencer.

History & First Performances[edit]

The band formed in January 2016 and, after nearly 2 years of rehearsals, performed their first live concert "Loving Life" at The Manor Ballroom in Ipswich on 29th December 2017. This was shortly followed by a follow-up performance of the same set at St Peter's by the Waterfront the next evening.

The "Loving Life" set made heavy use of Apple Mainstage to provide mixing, effects, backing drum tracks and synthesiser parts. In 2018 the band wanted to move to the more stripped-back sound they started with.

Singles[edit]

The first single by the Heuristics was released on 12th April 2018. Entitled "Love is like a stone" the music and lyrics were written by Dave Berry and it was arranged, recorded and produced by Jon Walters.

This was followed by their second single "A Taste of Summer" on 3rd June 2018 which was written by Jon Walters in the 1980s and lyrics added by Dave Berry.
