The Offing is an upcoming British film directed by Jessica Hobbs and starring Helena Bonham-Carter. It is adaptation of the novel by Benjamin Myers (2019), adapted by Amy Roberts with Charlotte Walls and Emily Barttelot set to produce for Catalyst Global Media.[1]

Premise[edit]

In post-war Britain, an elderly recluse and a teenage-boy strike up an unlikely friendship in a town in Northern England.[2]

Production[edit]

In April 2023, Curzon Film, Cineart and Madman Entertainment jointly acquired all distribution rights to the film for the United Kingdom, Ireland, Benelux, Australia and New Zealand and will work on an aligned campaign in those territories for the film. Filming was initially projected to start later in 2023,[3] but was pushed back to spring 2024.[4]
