Thomson Medical Group Limited is listed on the Mainboard of the Singapore Exchange (Singapore Exchange[1] SGX:A50) was established in 1979 and is amongst the largest listed healthcare players in Southeast Asia. Corporate Information.[2][3]

Operations

Since its establishment in 1979, it had grown into a leading healthcare player with operations in Singapore, Malaysia and Vietnam following the acquisition of stakes in Kuala Lumpur-based TMC Life Sciences and Vietnam based FV Hospital.[4]

The Group owns and operates its flagship hospital, 190-bed Thomson Thomson Medical Centre at Thomson Road in Singapore as well as a network of more than 30 specialist medical clinics and facilities.[5]

It provides outpatient women and children healthcare services and service offerings in fertility, diagnostic imaging, health screening, gynaecological oncology, specialist dermatology, traditional Chinese medicine and medical aesthetics.[6]

In Malaysia, Thomson Medical Group is the majority shareholder of TMC Life Sciences Berhad which is listed on Bursa Malaysia (MYX: 0101).[7] It operates Thomson Hospital Kota Damansara, a tertiary hospital located in Kota Damansara, and the award-winning TMC Fertility Centre which is the industry leader in assisted reproduction in Malaysia. It also owns the proposed Thomson Iskandar Medical Hub, in Johor Bahru, Malaysia.[8]

The Group has also successfully acquired Vietnam's FV hospital through the largest merge and acquisition (M&A) deal in Vietnam's healthcare industry in 2023 that was worth more than VND9 trillion ($381.4 million). It was reported to the largest purchase in Southeast Asia's healthcare sector since 2020.[9]The successful acquisition was made at the Announcement ceremony[10] on January 17 in Ho Chi Minh City.[11]

FV Hospital opened in Ho Chi Minh City in 2003. It is dubbed the "Gleneagles Hospital of Vietnam", FV Hospital was founded by Dr Jean-Marcel Guillon with a group of French physicians.[12]

Located in District 7 of Ho Chi Minh City, FV Hospital has more than 30 medical specialities, including oncology, cardiology, ophthalmology, orthopaedics, maternity and gastroenterology with almost 200 operating beds. It is currently undertaking an expansion with a new wing to the hospital, adding another 9,000 sq m in GFA, an estimated 35% expansion from its current 26,000 sqm of GFA.[12] [13]
