TikTok Music is a music streaming service app owned by ByteDance, first launched in July 2023[1].This service allows users to listen to, download and share songs.[2]
History[edit]
TikTok Music was first launched in Brazil and Indonesia in July 2023[1]. It is reported that TikTok Music features songs from major record companies like Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group and Sony Music Group.[3]
On July 19, 2023, it started launch in Australia, Mexico and Singapore, inviting user to participate in the TikTok Music Closed beta test[4].
On October 19, 2023, TikTok Music is available to the public in Australia, Singapore and Mexico.The service's launch in these markets features the recorded music repertoire from Sony Music Group and Warner Music Group.[5]
On January 31, 2024, Universal Music Group plans to pull song catalog from TikTok Music.[6]
