Timm Thaler is a German cartoon series from the year 2002

Plot[edit]

The series begins with Timm Thaler, who no longer has parents and lives with his Aunt Tilly, who runs a beauty salon for dogs, selling his laugh, which can convince everyone, to the rich noble person Baron Lived for 66 bets. As soon as Timm bets with someone at the sixth minute of every next hour, what he has bet happens, but Timm is not allowed to talk to anyone about his pact with Baron Lived, otherwise he will instantly turn to stone. Timm makes sure that his blind friend Akiko can see a Japanese violinist again. Later in the series, however, Timm also learns that Baron Lived is the devil and wants to use his laughter to sell people his ice cream, which is contaminated with malava, a green, lava-like substance that makes people evil. Timm then joins forces with Akiko, the samurai beetle Shu Shu and the inventive hamster Humphrey, who worked as a circus hamster before he met Timm, to try to regain his laughter. In order to achieve this, he travels around the world, through time and space, made possible by his bets, which Baron Lived has to fulfill, although he knows that Timm and his friends want to thwart his plans. In addition to Timm's nasty cousin Richie, the devil's henchmen, the strong but stupid demon Behemoth, the monster bag Astaroth and Baron Lived's right-hand man, the dragon Forcas, also stand in his way. To defeat the devil, Timm and his friends need the Stone of Avalam, which must then be connected to Malava, which they succeed in doing at the end of the last episode, banishing Baron Lived and his helpers to hell forever.
