Twinobusingye Severino (born September 21, 1969) is a Ugandan Advocate of the Courts of Judicature, recognized for his legal expertise in various domains. He is the founder and Managing Partner of M/s Twinobusingye Severino & Co. Advocates, a legal firm based in Uganda. Severino has also held leadership roles within professional and academic circles.
Education[edit]
Severino pursued his legal education at Makerere University, Kampala, Uganda, where he earned a Bachelor of Laws with Honors Degree and a Master of Laws Degree. He also holds a Bachelor of Philosophy with Honors Degree from Katigondo National Major Seminary Masaka, Uganda. Additionally, he completed his legal training at Law Development Centre, Kampala, Uganda, obtaining a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice and a Diploma in Law.
Career[edit]
Severino began his legal career in 1992 and has since been actively practicing as an Advocate of the Courts of Judicature of Uganda [1]. He specializes in Constitutional Litigation, Electoral Matters, Mining Law, International Law, International Trade and Commerce, Investment, Governance, Human Rights, and Strategic Litigation.
Professional Roles[edit]
In addition to his legal practice, Severino holds several leadership positions. He serves as the President of the Catholic Lawyers Society International [2] and as the Chairperson of the University Council for Karamoja Peace and Technology University. He is a member of various professional organizations including the Uganda Law Society, East Africa Law Society, Catholic Lawyers Society International, and Uganda Catholic Lawyers Society. Severino also sits on the Boards of Directors for several corporate organizations.
Teaching Experience[edit]
Severino has contributed to legal education as a lecturer at Uganda Martyrs University Nkozi from 2022 to 2023, where he taught courses in Labour Law, The Law of Sale of Goods, Criminology, and Penology.
Personal Life[edit]
Twinobusingye Severino was born in Kigarama, Nyamirama Town Council, Kinkizi West, Kanungu District, Western Uganda. He holds Ugandan nationality.
