Víctor Lluís Pérez Garcia (Tarragona, 1980) is a Catalan history teacher, archaeology researcher, writer and orientalist, expert in poliorcetics and polemology.

Biography[edit]

Among his university degrees, he holds a bachelor in history, a master’s degree in East Asian studies from the Open University of Catalonia (Barcelona), with a thesis on Japanese castles, and a doctorate in archaeology from the Rovira i Virgili University (Tarragona), obtained with a thesis on Roman walls.[1].

In 2004 his first novel, La venjança d’al-Mansur (Al-Mansur’s revenge), was finalist of the 24th Ramon Llull Novel Award in Catalan language (Barcelona) and in 2005 he won the Domènec Guansé Grant-Award for Literary Creation (Tarragona) with the novel El Trident del Drac (The Dragon’s Trident)[2][3].

He is also the author of numerous academic articles and several monographs, mainly on ancient fortresses from Rome and East Asia, written in Catalan, English, Spanish and Italian[4][5].

Since 2005 he teaches regularly history at high schools in Catalonia and, occasionally, gives several lectures and seminars on East Asia art and archaeology at universities and other institutions[6].

In 2018 he founded in Tarragona the independent publishing imprint Edicions Excalibur[7].

He is also the main responsible of Arkeo Channel, an online video channel of short archaeological documentaries, an educative project of cultural interest created in 2016[8]
