Viraemia is a technical death metal band from United States founded by Josh Hernandez and Scott Plummer.[1] The band used classical music-influenced compositions paired with extreme metal drumming.
The name of the band is inspired by viremia, which is a medical condition where viruses enter the bloodstream and hence have access to the rest of the body.
Founders Josh Hernandez and Scott Plummer were originally from Defiance, Ohio, in late 2007 they traveled together to Phoenix and officially started the band in the following year. In 2011, Tony Martinez left the band for personal issues. After not finding a new vocalist for over a year, Plummer announced in late 2012 that Viraemia had split up.
