Draft:West Kentucky Industrial College

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

West Kentucky Industrial College was started in 1909 but the first building cornerstone was not laid until 1911.[1] Dennis H. Anderson the founder and president from 1909 to 1937, first attempted to get the college accepted as a state institution in 1912, but it was not accepted until 1918.[1] In 1938 the college merged with Kentucky State.[1]

A historical marker was erected in 1973 by the Kentucky Historical Society and the Kentucky Department of Highways.[1]
