William Trapp was a state legislator in Florida. His post office was in Gainesville, Florida and he represented Alachua County.

Trapp was elected to the Florida House of Representatives to represent Alachua in the 1879 and 1883 sessions.[1]. After his first session in 1879 he had run again in 1880 but had come tenth.[2] In the November 7, 1882 election he was again successful along with M. M. Lewey, Benjamin Rush and Leonard G. Dennis.[3] He served as a Republican.[4]
