Yiheng Wang (born 16 December, 2013, age 10) is a Chinese Rubik's Cube speedsolver. He is the current world record average holder with a time of 4.48 seconds, set at Mofunland Cruise Open 2023 on 20 June 2023. He placed second at the WCA World Championship 2023 in Incheon, Korea.

Career[edit]

Yiheng Wang competed for the first time at Shenzhen Open 2019. On 19 February 2023, Wang broke the Asian continental record average with a time of 4.91 seconds at Singapore Championship 2023, making him the third person to achieve an official average under five seconds. At Hanoi Super Brain Zyo 2023 (25-26 February), Wang got an average time of 4.75 seconds, which was a world record, but the result was declared invalid due to the cube being scrambled incorrectly on one of his solves.

At Yong Jun KL Speedcubing 2023 on 12 March 2023, Wang broke the world record average with a time of 4.69 seconds, as well as breaking his personal record single solve with a time of 3.90 seconds. On 30 April 2023, Wang broke the Asian record 2x2x2 cube average with a time of 1.13 seconds. On 20 June 2023, at Mofunland Cruise Open, Wang broke the 3x3 world record average again with a time of 4.48 seconds, which was the first average to have two solves under four seconds. On 21 October, at Thailand Championship 2023, Wang broke his 2x2 Asian record average with a time of 1.08 seconds.

At the WCA World Championship 2023, Wang placed second in the 3x3x3 event with an average time of 5.32 seconds, just behind Max Park's 5.31 and just ahead of Tymon Kolasinski's 5.42. He also placed fourth in the 2x2x2 event with an average time of 1.39 seconds, missing the top three by .02 seconds.

At MYHM Singapore Championship 2024, Wang tied the Asian record 3x3x3 single of 3.47 seconds, first set by Yusheng Du in 2018. This places him third in the world, behind Max Park and Luke Garrett.
