Early Life and Education Born in El Salvador, Yonatan moved to Iceland in 2010 at the age of 13. He attended Ha´teigskóli from ages 10 to 16, where he first developed a passion for culinary arts. He then went on to Borgarholtskóli for his high school education.

Culinary Career Pursuing his passion for cooking, Cruz became a trained chef and worked his way up to the position of head chef at Héðinn Kitchen and Bar in Reykjavik. His skills in the kitchen are well-respected in the local community.
